TENTATIVE 2025 DATES:
Late May/Early June - Interest Meeting after school at Woodson
Monday August 4, 2025 (Woodson Stadium) : 8-9am Boys/9-10am Girls - Paperwork turn in, team meeting.
Tuesday & Wednesday August 5-6, 7:30-9:30am - Practice, starting at Woodson Stadium
Thursday August 7, 7:30-9:30am - 2000m Time Trial tryout (details below)
Friday August 8, 7:30-9:30am - Practice, starting at Woodson Stadium
Monday & Tuesday August 11-12, 7:30-9:30am 7:30 - Practice, starting at Woodson Stadium
Wednesday August 13, 7:30-9:30am - 2000m Time Trial tryout (only for those runners who missed Aug. 7 time trial)
Thursday August 15, 7:30-9:30am - Practice, starting at Woodson Stadium
Friday August 16, 7-8:15am - Practice, starting at Woodson Stadium. Cav Kickoff to follow.
TRYOUT DETAILS:
- On Thursday August 7, we will hold a 2000m time trial on the track (5 laps).
- On Wednesday August 13, we will a hold a makeup 2000m time trial for any athletes who missed the Aug. 7 time trial.
- The top 40 boys and top 40 girls times will automatically be accepted on to the team.
- An additional 5-10 boys and 5-10 girls may be accepted on to the team, at the discretion of the coaching staff.
- If you are unable to attend the Thursday August 7 time trial, you MUST email Coach Przydzial (MPrzydzial@fcps.edu) in advance, informing him of the date you will be arriving at practice, and that you have/will turn in your physical before attending practice.
Exceptions may be made for runners returning from injury, especially those who have demonstrated comparable times in 2024 XC or 2023 track.
After-School Practice:
- Once school begins, we will practice every weekday and some Saturdays. Athletes must be at practice every weekday Monday-Friday.
- After school practice will begin at 3:40 pm until approximately 5:30pm. You can use 3-3:40pm to visit with a teacher, attend club meetings, or make up assessments. You should be on the track, ready to begin at 3:40pm, not walking out of the school at 3:40pm.
- If you are absent from school, you may not attend practice or after-school meets.
- Please email Coach Przydzial if you will not be at practice, attendance will be taken and daily attendance is required.
